Rosario Medina Alarcon, 97, of Honaunau died July 29 at home. Born in Mexico City, she was a housewife. Private services at a later date. Survived by daughters, Rosario (Michael) Cutting of Prescott, Ariz., Ana (Andrew) Fellinjer of Sugarland, Texas, Irene (Charles) Hart of Houston and Patricia (Richard) Missler of Honaunau; son, Alfredo (Karen) Alarcon of Long Beach, Calif.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Edwin John De Luz, 84, of Paauilo died July 10 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Paauilo, he was the owner of Edwin De Luz Trucking &Gravel and Kohala Coast Concrete &Precast, an equipment operator, retired state highways area supervisor, rancher and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Ancient Order of Foresters Court Mauna Kea No. 8854 and Hawaii Army National Guard veteran. Visitation 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 12) at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Honokaa. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima section. Casual attire. Edna “Ella” Fook Tai Francisco, 85, of Hawi died July 2 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Makapala, she was a homemaker and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Services held. Hope Kealoha, formerly known as Samylyn Ua, 63, of Hilo died July 6 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired county highways equipment operator, former Wackenhut security guard and member of 3 Days 3 Nights Study Hall. Born in Laupahoehoe, he was a retired electronics installer for Hawaiian Telcom, U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran and member of New Hope-Hilo, Wikiwiki Golf Club, Golf Fanatix and Kelepono Golf Club.
